Factory 319: A Startup Studio Advancing Innovation in Healthcare

In a constantly evolving entrepreneurial landscape, startup studios are redefining how ventures are created. Factory 319, born out of a company specializing in web and mobile development, focuses on the health and wellness sector. Hedi Michau, a surgeon and co-founder, identified a growing need for comprehensive support that goes far beyond pure tech enablement. As early as 2017, he began exploring the startup studio model to offer a more hands-on framework tailored to the unique demands of the medical field.

An Evolving Model: From Internal Ideation to Venture Building

Between 2017 and 2020, Factory 319 refined an internal ideation model, where startup concepts originate directly within the studio. This approach allows for rapid concept testing, prototyping, and early-stage validation before assigning projects to dedicated teams. At the same time, the studio supports healthcare professionals who’ve identified clear, unmet needs—often taking an equity stake in the startups that result. By 2024, with five ventures launched, Factory 319 begins piloting a corporate studio model, co-creating solutions in collaboration with major industry players to solve their most pressing challenges.
